Always think a step ahead. Unless you're up against Rajon Rondo. Then think two steps ahead.
The Dallas Mavericks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder by four points last night in a thriller, and the moment of the game came courtesy of point guard Rajon Rondo.
Giving up a nine inch advantage to the Thunder's 6ft 10 inch Mitch McGary, Rondo knew he'd need to come up with something pretty clever to win this jump ball.
So as the referee threw the ball into the air between them, Rondo simply let McGary make the first move, and after judging which Thunder player McGary would aim for, he simply stepped into the path of the ball to intercept it.
McGary almost recovered, but in the end Rondo made the steal, before quickly launching it down the court for Chandler Parsons to smash in the slam dunk.
Bringing a new meaning to the term "reading the game".
