10-minute hold-up as ugly brawl mars Galway minor win over Wexford

Galway minors reached the All-Ireland final, at Croke Park, but their nine-point victory was marred by an ugly brawl in added time. Galway were far too good for Wexford and though they finished with only 14 players, after Ian McGlynn was red-carded, but they never looked in trouble. Wexford spurned a couple of goal-scoring chances but Galway pulled well clear with some crisp shooting from distance. In the middle of it all, Galway's Shane Morgan was left prone by the hoarding boards. As the dust settled and after the referee conferred with umpires and his officials, red cards were flashed at the Wexford pair of Kyle Scallan and Cian Molloy. "We got our match-ups right and our backs were fantastic today. "I didn't see the red card [incident] but I'd say it was a red if the ref said it was."

Galway will be hoping Morgan will recover in time for the final as he was just one of a number of their players that were fantastic on the day.
