Waterford were very unlucky during their first half against Cork in the Munster SHC at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
And the pundits at RTÉ agreed, with Galway legend Joe Canning convinced they should have had a penalty and that Cork should have been shown a black card when Stephen Bennett was pulled down by Mark Coleman while charging through on goal.
He said: "I think Waterford can feel a bit aggrieved at times with some of the decisions Johnny Murphy is making.
"Here, early on, Bennett in fairness does unbelievable here, takes two bounces off the sod.
"Mark Coleman definitely pulls him down. Goal scoring opportunity, through on goal, hands over the shoulder, pulls him down.
"To me it should be a penalty and a black card, I think we're all probably in agreement with that as well."
Before the game, Waterford boss, Peter Queally, said: “A win next week will get us through. That’s what we need to be mindful of now.
“There’s no point feeling sorry for ourselves.
“I know that we won’t be given a chance.
“In fairness to these lads — I know them long enough — when their backs are to the wall, they have produced in the past.
“Hopefully that will be the case again. The hurling will look after itself. It’s just trying to get the lads’ heads up and tuned in to next week.
“We’re still in this Championship. We just have to refocus on next week. The difference next week is Cork will be in the same boat as us.
“They only have seven days to turn around as well. So there’s still a lot to play for.”
