WATCH: “How many people with natural god-given talent sit on bar stools?” – Mayo manager reacts to Cora Staunton’s Connacht final haul

We saw one of the great individual performances last weekend.

Cora Staunton's 2-14 in Mayo's Connacht final victory over Galway will go down as one of the great scoring displays. Left foot, right foot, penalty rebounds... the Carnacon phenomenon scored them all in McHale Park as she racked up another incredible total in an incredible performance. She has been playing intercounty football since 1995 but in her 22nd consecutive season with Mayo she is showing no sign of slowing down. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/622893432462311424 Her manager Frank Browne believes she is an inspiration to any budding footballer.
"For any young player, what does she do? She practices everyday, she trains everyday. That is the secret to her success, hard work. She has natural god-given talent, but how many people with natural god-given talent sit on bar stools?"
Hats off also to Martha Carter, who played on despite breaking her hand after 10 minutes. They just make them different in Mayo. https://youtu.be/eXCCtx1Xkas Clip via Jerome Quinn for Ladies HEC  SNAPCHAT
