The replayed Fitzgibbon Cup final took place in Páirc Uí Rinn last night and UL took the crown 2-18 to 1-14. The main man for the victors was Clare star Tony Kelly, who togged out at midfield in a dominant display.
Kelly, who would score 0-6, two from placed balls, was at the heart of all UL's best moves and this snippet from the game shows him performing not one, but two superb pieces of individual genius.
First he controls the sliotar and spins away from one man before beating the next by spinning one way and blind hand-passing the ball to Jason Forde.
Sadly, Forde's long range effort went wide but the technique and vision displayed by Kelly was top drawer.
