Proof that ladies footballers and camogie players work just as hard as their male counterparts

As a fan you just get to see sportspeople line out on the field and do their thing for an hour as you head home, maybe picking up chips along the way to warm your bones. But did you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes so that the men and women of the GAA world can go about providing you with entertainment for almost next to nothing. What sacrifices do players make to ensure their in peak condition for one or two games a week, and how do they find time to balance their working lives with a top level sports career. Well this video from the recently launched WGPA gives a good idea on the pressure, as well as the hard work involved from a camogie and ladies football perspective. Cameras followed third level students for an entire week to see exactly how much time they put into their chosen codes, while also coping with a part time job and life in a third level institution. Laura McEnaney from Monaghan is a student in DCU and an inter county footballer, while Laura McMahon is a UL student and a county camogie player with Clare.
