Joe Brolly admits that he would consider running for President of Ireland "if I thought I could make a difference."
The RTÉ pundit appeared on The Late Late Show on Friday night and Ryan Tubridy was having none of his half-hearted denials that he would be interested in succeeding Michael D Higgins.
The former Derry footballer provided the studio audience with an eye-opening demonstration of what it is like to live with cystic fibrosis and he said that if he could help charities of such causes among other things like helping to get a transplant hospital in Ireland, being president "is not something that would be beyond the pale."
And he couldn't believe that his odds were as long as 20/1.
