Series four of the increasingly popular sports show gets under way this evening on RTE Two at 10pm, and the gang have sent us this hilarious promo of one of their new features: Degrading Irish Superstars Action, with Ken Early.
Sports fans of a certain vintage will fondly remember Superstars, a show from the 1970s and 80s where top level sportspeople from all around the world competed in a series of decathlon style events.
Big names such as Pat Spillane, Bernard Brogan Senior, and Declan Burns represented Ireland in the competition, which featured American superstars like Herschel Walker, OJ Simpson, Johnny Unitas.
However, to find the Irish representative, RTE broadcast the Irish Superstars competition, and it's from this that the Second Captains have found their inspiration for the new segment.
Physical comedy is the best.
