VIDEO: Dean Strang confirms he’s part Irish and explained one of Making a Murderer’s biggest mysteries

We have huge sympathy for Steven Avery.

The 'star' of the most talked about TV show in the world right now,  'Making a Murderer,' Steven Avery, still languishes in jail after his conviction for the murder of Teresa Halbach. One of the men who represented him in his trial for that murder was a guest on tonight's Ray Darcy Show on RTE, and while Ray did his best to ask the lawyer about the case and the plight of the 53 year old, there was just one question the Irish viewers wanted answered. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/691018326932238336 https://twitter.com/richiehogan8/status/691019330692190208 Dean spoke about the case until eventually get around to asking about the hurling statue that featured for a scene in the 10-part Netflix documentary. It has been reported that Strang had been given the statue as a gift from a friend, and the lawyer confirmed the background to the chunk of bronze in his office this evening, and also confirmed his Irish roots.

"I'm one-eighth Irish. That is a hurling statue and it was given to me by an Irish-American criminal defence lawyer friend of mine in Milwaukee. "He's a first generation Irish American and his father is the chair of the north american board for the Gaa for a time. "He's a dear friend and a wonderful lawyer and gave me that."
