Colm 'Gooch' Cooper has us all kinds of excited for his return to the fold as he reveals "The Toughest" moment of his career.
Cooper suffered cruciate ligament damage to his knee while on club duty for Dr. Crokes last year and is not expected to return to competitive action until March.
In the advertisement for the AIB GAA Club Championships, Cooper vividly recalls the moment when he realised that his injury was a serious one.
"I remember Kieran O'Leary standing over me going 'What is it? What is it?' and I just shouted up 'It's my knee, it's my knee. I think I'm in trouble'"
The heartbreak is palpable in every word but 'Gooch' gives us some optimism ahead of his return to football in the coming weeks by saying: "I could easily walk away now and say 'Yeah I had a great career!' and things like that but there's more to come. I feel there's more to come and that's the exciting part."
