Croke Park not the only showpiece event this weekend as the USGAA finals take place in Philadelphia

Sunday's football championship final isn't the only showpiece event this weekend in Gaelic games as the USGAA finals take place in Philadelphia.

While Dublin and Tyrone battle it out to see whether the Dub's can complete the four-in-a-row, or whether the Red Hands can win their fourth ever title, Gael's in North America will be more concerned about their adopted club's fortunes in Philly over the weekend. Clubs from all over the United States and Canada will battle it out in both codes to see who the Kings and Queens of the continent are. The sheer amount of GAA clubs is highlighted by the number of different championships that will be up for grabs. Football (both men and women), hurling and camogie tournaments all have senior, intermediate and junior grades, meaning the number of participating clubs is at nearly 100. Veteran GAA journalist Jerome Quinn published a new video of last years event which took place in San Francisco and it is sure to get you up for the weekend festivities. Quinn has been doing stellar work covering Gaelic games for over 20 years and is a constant figure at third level events, ladies football, camogie, and overseas events as well as club championships. His work is very much welcomed by the GAA community as a lot of these events will go unrecognised if not for his work. The finals will run from August 31 to September 2 at Malvern, Philadelphia.
