The pain of losing an extra time thriller to UCD will have hurt everyone involved with Ulster University but watching the Dublin outfit reclaim the Sigerson will no doubt have reinvigorated the campuses up north with a feeling of what might've been and, certainly, what can be.
To that end, they're back but they're back with a new look.
The university has rebranded and now will wear navy, gold and white as their official colours.
They can still use blue in their leisure gear and the blue will still be available in select jerseys but, now, the new look is navy, gold and white and the away kit will also be white with navy.
The Sigerson Cup last year was run off over 19 days from the end of January to February 17.
The fixtures for 2019 are yet to be released but the magic of the competition still survives, despite the apathy towards it from the calendar-makers.
Tyrone All-Star and Young Footballer of the Year nominee Michael McKernan will be representing Ulster University in their new navy this season.
