It wasn't going to affect anything but you can understand why it should have been spoken about.
It's not like an in-depth discussion of the incident which saw Philly McMahon appear to gouge at the eyes of Kerry's Kieran Donaghy was going to set up a replay.
McMahon has since given his explanation of the incident but last night nobody, apart from Tomas Ó Sé, wanted to talk about it.
It was definitely the talking point at the end of yesterday's All-Ireland SFC final and the fact that one of the biggest moments of the biggest game of the year was glossed over by the panelists on The Sunday Game did not sit well with GAA fans.
One perspicacious Tweeter predicted the failure of the panel to discuss the incident at any great length.

Others were hopeful.

But when the panel claimed that they didn't want to get into the McMahon/Donaghy clash because it wasn't the night to do so, Twitter erupted!

A lucky man. Ger Brennan dominated headlines after Dublin’s relegation-sealing loss to Galway on Sunday. The Dubs boss got into a physical altercation with Galway’s S&C coach Cian Breathnach McGinn, with both men sent to the stands by referee Fergal Kelly. Brennan acknowledged the decision after the game and said: “Yeah look, myself and the […]
RIP. Tributes have been pouring in from the world of Irish sport, following the passing of broadcasting great Michael Lyster. There were touching scenes at Galway’s clash with Dublin yesterday, while both the Taoiseach and Tánaiste released statements. The legendary RTÉ Marty broadcaster Marty Morrissey also spoke about his former colleague, with a glowing tribute […]
Brutal. Mayo boss Andy Moran has hit back at Joe Brolly, after the pundit criticised his selection against Kerry earlier this month. Mayo were hammered 2-29 to 0-19 that day, with Brolly writing in his column that ex-player Moran was too reliant on his ‘old friends’ group’, referencing players such as Aidan O’Shea, Cillian O’Connor, […]
