Tipperary hurling fans reeling from retirement of two-time All-Ireland winner

We're surprised, and not surprised at the same time.

Tipperary hurling fans must have heads on spinning sticks over the last week with three of the county's best hurlers over the last decade having quit the inter-county scene. We've had Conor O'Mahony, James Woodlock and, just yesterday, Shane McGrath quit as inter-county hurlers. And now one of the country's best players, and a former Hurler of the Year, feels his time as a Tipperary hurler is over. Lar Corbett may be a source of fun in Kilkenny after the whole Tommy Walsh escapade, but for Tipperary fans he will always be remembered as the key to stopping the 'Drive for Five'. In a statement released on Twitter Corbett thanked everyone in Tipperary hurling for helping him in his journey as a county hurler over the last 15 years as he retires for the second time in his career. And this time, it seems its for good. https://twitter.com/larcorbett/status/667013475290456065 Corbett's retirement is perhaps not as surprising as that of Woodlock's or McGrath's, having been mostly used a substitute over the past two seasons.
