As is the case in every line of the pitch, there are some genuine legends of the game to choose from here, men who relished pitting their wits against the best forwards and weren’t shy of bursting forward for a score or two themselves when it was needed.
A cursory reminder at this point that players have to actually have won an All-Ireland senior title with their clubs to be eligible for selection, but, as you’ll see below, the pick is still pretty vast.
