Our mission to select the best club football team of all time is nearly complete (check out the team so far), with only the two last lines of defence left to choose before settling on our ultimate XV.
This week, it’s time to select the full-back line. Some will tell you that corner-back and full-back are horrible positions to play in, but the great defenders made an art of it.
Some of the best forwards in the game were beaten even before the whistle blew such was their reputation of the men they were marking; a mere look in the eye from some of these lads, never mind a hefty shoulder, would be enough to put you off your dinner for a week.
You can see the rest of the pretty impressive-looking team they’ll be joining here; before you see fit to criticise the full-back nominations below, remember that only players who have won a senior All-Ireland title with their club are eligible for selection.
