One of biggest Super 8 games scheduled for exact same time as World Cup final

Well, you could, but at this stage, no-one would believe you anymore. The GAA have been bumbling along from one stupid decision to the next of late and the latest this week was the scheduling of the very first Super 8 games. So far, only two fixtures for the All-Ireland football quarter-finals have been set as the groups for the Super 8s became clear on Monday. The GAA, in their wisdom, then released the first dates and times for the Croke Park games on Tuesday. Dublin entertain Donegal at headquarters on the Saturday evening - in their neutral game - and that's controversy enough that they get two games at Croker. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/1014122551822487552 But, after that, one of the most anticipated games of the series, Kerry v Galway, will take place on the Sunday. The fixture details for the remaining Phase 1 games will be confirmed on Monday, July 9. But, yes, the Kerry-Galway game has the small matter of a little clash of interest for sports fans who will now have to choose between that first round-robin quarter-final match and the World Cup final. It's bad enough that not every Super 8 game is going to be shown on live TV but, now, one of the best of them will have a very big clash of interest. And this is only the second of them too.
