Disgusting news coming out of Kerry as a South Africa-born fan claims she was victim to racist abuse for simply wanting to display the flag of the county she supported.

Beverley, originally from South Africa, was told to get her "filthy hands" off the flag as she and Irish husband Diarmuid attempted to put the flag of the Kingdom on their car. The couple were understandably shocked by the unprovoked abuse by the passer-by but Beverley, who has been living in Ireland for over a decade, revealed that they did not rise to the confrontation. "Everybody came to a standstill," she said in an interview with Kerry Today. "They thought maybe we had the argument with him. "We did not. He was the one who had a problem with us, over me handling the flag. "We just left here. We got into the car and we were shocked." Chairman of the Kerry Supporters Club Donal O'Leary has since come out and condemned the comments made by the individual and reinforced the inclusive attitude of Kerry GAA. "We would be very much against racism," O’Leary said. "We value everybody. "They are welcome to come and wear the green and gold. We’d have no problem with that."
