Nine years is a long time to wait for a club like Scotstown.
The ladies of the proud Monaghan outfit almost went a decade without a title but it was put right on Saturday with a league victory that was literally celebrated like no other.
Scotstown clinched the ladies league with a 4-9 to 2-7 win over Sean McDermotts and they marked the occasion with aplomb. Followed by a shattering.
If you thought Two Cans Cronan was impressive during Erin's Isle's hurling league celebrations in Dublin - and he was - the Farney women went in a different direction.

One player threw the celebratory drinks down his throat simultaneously. Another player decided to smash it all over the floor.
Ciara Kilpatrick, who finished the day as one of Scotstown's top scorers, gave it a lash. She was tasked with spraying the drink all over the team but the opener failed her and she wouldn't let anything halt the scenes of joy any longer. So the next logical step was obviously to just hammer the bottle off the table, smash it to pieces and throw the prosecco anywhere.
By hook or by crook.

They deserved to celebrate and they deserved to do it hard. Too bad none of them could enjoy the prosecco though.
We're assured they all made up for it later.
