“We have trained 65 times” – Roscommon manager calls out players for missing sessions

Roscommon manager Davy Burke said that his team has trained 65 times this season so far, but never had a full squad together for any of those sessions. The Rossies lost to Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday night, and despite only being a point down at half time, with plenty of positives to build on, the home team started to turn the screw as a Con O'Callaghan-inspired performance meant that Burke is still currently without a win in the league. The Connacht team have been missing several men due to the Sigerson Cup and they are also still waiting on players returning from St Brigid's, after their run to the senior All-Ireland club final last month. After the defeat, Burke cited that the absence of these players has been a big problem, and has thrown down the gauntlet for them all to return immediately.

Burke continued: "It's an absolutely huge (game), there are eight points available, four games to go, Monaghan lost so The Hyde will be interesting next Sunday, that's a massive game. "We are at home - we went to Clones last year and they gave us a lesson, so we will see what happens next weekend." Related links:
