GAA+ misses huge moment in crunch Cork vs Roscommon decider

Much to the disappointment of many fans, the game, as well as big clashes between Dublin vs Derry and Galway vs Armagh, were not shown on TV, but instead were available to stream on GAA+.

The disappointment was compounded by the fact that coverage on the streaming service was lost during a crucial stage of the match.

As pointed out by X user Podge McG, with the score at 0-18 to 0-14 in the second half, the Rossies were through on goal with just the keeper to beat, but missed the chance to go a point behind and secure the momentum for the closing stages.

However, fans only got to see the moment on the replay.

It is just the latest in a long list of grievances supporters have had with GAA coverage in recent years.

After the game, Roscommon boss, Davy Burke, spoke about his future with the team.

He said: "Obviously, there’s no big headline here or big announcement. If you look at our three years, and this might get lost with people, the like of Conor Hand, Daire Cregg, Conor Carroll, Keith Doyle, Ruaidhrí Fallon, Robbie Dolan, Pearse Frost, Shane Cunnane, Colm Neary, Senan Lambe, Declan Kenny — I could keep going on — we’ve brought through a new Roscommon team to compliment the lads that are there.

“I’d be very proud of that work to date. I hope that doesn’t get lost in the coverage here. Essentially myself, Leo (Tierney) and Eddie (Lohan), who have been here since the start, it’s essentially a new Roscommon team.

“We’ll obviously take our time now and hopefully go home and spend a bit of time with the family.

“I think this experience will stand to these players next year. It’s top level football (Division One) and you need to be ready for it — a serious level of stuff. We just all need a break. The lads will go back to their clubs and then we’ll come back and make a decision.”
