Over 24,000 fans will need a warm drink after being exposed to some atrocious elements in the Connacht football final. The Rossies looked good value for an early lead - thanks in part to Enda Smith's goal - but it was a touch and go throughout. The game was level on five occasions but Roscommon needed a late score to get on terms before the final whistle. The standard of football was, for long stretches, poor. Pat Spillane and Joe Brolly lamented to '450-plus' hand passes that were on show during the 74 minutes in Salthill. Both teams were guilty of depending too much on blanket defence systems and cynical fouls. There was a game there to be won but no-one won it. https://twitter.com/Tigerscan/status/752143830389055488 With the fare, at times, forgettable, many TV viewers had plenty of time to wonder what exactly was going on with the RTÉ cameras. Out in the elements, many of the alternate angles were hard to make out. It was all too much for some. https://twitter.com/oriain1/status/752128512803344385 https://twitter.com/MrNiallMcGarry/status/752128048162598913 https://twitter.com/The__Boyler/status/752126852039380992 https://twitter.com/samobyrne/status/752146803903127552 Some took it too extremes https://twitter.com/pappybowe/status/752129096688234496
