Peter Canavan’s son Ruairi scores outrageous sideline in Ulster u20 final

Tyrone are still riding the crest of a wave, as last night their u20 team defeated a stubborn and determined Cavan side, to claim the Ulster u20 title for 2022. Cavan beat a much fancied Derry squad in their run to the final and many would have been backing them to go all the way, but the Red Hands had a not-so-secret weapon. Anyone who knows anything about football, knows Peter Canavan, and if you're from Tyrone then you will know him as 'God'. The former Tyrone captain helped his county lift two All-Irelands in a glittering career, and his eldest son Darragh Canavan played an important role off the bench to help clinch last year's coveted Sam Maguire. Now, the second son of 'God' is coming of age, and Ruairi Canavan has been in dazzling form this whole Ulster campaign. The young half forward kicked seven points in their one-point win over Cavan, but one of the scores in particular was just so sublime, that if you were watching from home, you would have stood up and applauded it in your living room.
