You have to give it to him, Pat Spillane is keeping up with the times when it comes to his football analogies. However, I don't think anyone expected the Kerryman to even know what Tinder was, never mind reference it on live TV during The Sunday Game.

Joanne Cantwell had a sneaky suspicion that Spillane might be orchestrating these phrases in advance, in order to achieve notoriety online.

It's hard to beat a good dad-joke, particularly when it's an Irish dad, although it's always worse when it's your own father who is making them, as poor Cara Spillane will tell you. The Kerry legend may not have a Twitter account, but his daughter certainly does, and she feels that she maybe had a part to play, in inspiring her father's Tinder anecdote.
