One of the umpires for Cavan vs Monaghan was a straight-up G

At Breffni Park on Sunday, the 'G' in GAA stood for, well, G.

It was the visitors who secured their place in the semi-finals of the Ulster senior football championship by 1-15 to 0-15.  Conor McManus will undoubtedly be receiving the plaudits after the game as his second half goal proved to be the difference between the teams, but there was an unsung hero on the field who deserves some recognition. It's fair to say that everyone at the game experienced the extremes of the 'Irish summer'. Players, spectators and officials alike all had to cope with the nasty rain and horrid wind that they always artfully omit from those Discover Ireland ads. However, one man wasn't ready to give up on summer just yet, even though the conditions were doing everything in their power to force him to. We are, of course, referring to the umpire who committed to wearing shades throughout the entirety of the game.
