Homesport

England fans only get to experience the euphoria of elite knockout football every few years, so it's understandable that they have reached new levels of unbearable excitement.

For GAA fans though, we have knockout action all summer and there's no VAR, nil nils, penalty shoot-outs or that absolutely infuriating chant about bringing something home. The Ulster championship hasn't lived up to its promise so far but at long last the big wigs are meeting each other. Tyrone take on Cavan in a fascinating match-up as the reigning Ulster championships are somehow the underdogs against this new look Tyrone side. Derry have been flying in division three under Roy Gallagher, but this where they will really test themselves as they face the most successful Ulster side in the last decade, Donegal. Don't worry, it's not just senior football to look forward to as Antrim attempt to bounce back from their defeat to Dublin by taking on Laois in the hurling championship. Also, at long last, we get to see the talented minor teams of 2020, finish out their championship campaigns that were put on hold due to COVID.
