The Mayo manager has stuck his neck out with three big calls for his side's knock-out qualifier clash with Clare.
Rochford has gone without Andy Moran and Stephen Coen for this weekend's clash at Cusack Park. Paddy Durcan misses out through suspension. Keith Higgins has not been recalled to the starting 15 despite being free to play again after missing the win over Derry through suspension.
Seamus O'Shea starts in place of Durcan, with Donal Vaughan moving to the half backs. Diarmuid O'Connor is recalled to the team in place of Coen.
The biggest call of all sees veteran forward Moran dropped in place of last weekend's goalscoring substitute Conor Loftus.
The 3A Qualifier clash, which throws in at 5pm, will be the 100th Mayo appearance of goalkeeper David Clarke.
