Mayo GAA in mourning after death of All-Ireland minor winner

Absolutely tragic.

Ahead of this Sunday's All-Ireland senior football semi final with Dublin, Mayo has been plunged into mourning for one of the county's brightest young football talents. News broke, this afternoon, of the death in road accident of Darragh Doherty, who was an All-Ireland winner with the county's minors in 2013. The Kilmaine clubman scored 1-2 in that year's All-Ireland final win over Tyrone, and was expected to be a major feature of Mayo sides over the coming years. The 19-year-old was killed in a road accident outside Ballinrobe last night and his club confirmed the sad news on Facebook this afternoon.
