Mayo boss comments don’t bode well for team after loss to Roscommon

A day of upsets!

Mayo's woes came early this year, after a 1-18 to 2-25 dismantling from Roscommon at MacHale Park this afternoon.

Despite a good performance from Kobe McDonald (0-06), Andy Moran's men were second best for most of the game.

After the match, the manager spoke of the hunger of the Rossies.

He said: "I think the simple fact about it is, when the ball was on the ground, in the air, Roscommon were hungrier for the ball today than us and that's the most disappointing thing for me.

"With the new rules, you need to be heavier on the kick-outs."
