It looks like Aidan O’Shea is going to be playing International Rules this year

What an addition.

The GAA season is now winding down, it has been nearly a month since Dublin overcame Mayo in the most enthralling of finals. Normality resumes as players return to their respective clubs and play out whatever is left of the club championships. But in just under a month's time, we will get two more marquee matches as Ireland face Australia in Australia. It's back to two tests this time around after an enthralling match in 2015 that featured a number of top stars. But, given these players all have working commitments it may not be as easy to get time off and travel down under. One player that won't be travelling is Mayo's Lee Keegan, he has been ruled out through injury:

"Unfortunately, he has been carrying a wee bit of an injury over from the All-Ireland and he won’t be able to make it so it’s disappointing,"  Ireland manager Joe Kernan said.

But we should still feel plenty of Dublin and Mayo players according to the coach:

"There are 18 players that I asked from (Dublin and Mayo) there’s some of them waiting to come back with work commitments, there’s three or four with injury problems and there is one or two that can’t commit because of work. "I’d be hoping at least four from each," Kernan concluded.

One man that looks likely to travel is Mayo's Aidan O'Shea, he was down in the GAA National Games Development Centre on Friday night where the International Rules team are training. Kerry's Paul Geaney has also revealed that he plans to make the squad, the forward told SportsJOE on the GAA Hour that he has been training with the team in hopes of making the final panel.
