Eight-time All-Ireland winner and former Kilkenny U21 hurling manager Eddie Brennan has been proposed by the Laois Senior Hurling Selection committee to take the reins as the county's next senior hurling manager.
Brennan stepped down from his role as the Cats U21 manager last season after guiding the county to their first All-Ireland final at the grade since 2012.
Brennan took over as U21 manager in 2015 and he won a Leinster title in 2017 as Kilkenny trounced Wexford in the final in Nowlan Park.

It is understood that the 39-year-old works in Portlaoise and if he is approved by the county board he would succeed Eamonn Kelly who resigned from his role in June.
Laois were expected to be a contender in this year's Joe McDonagh Cup but they ultimately endured a disappointing campaign where they finished with just two wins from five games.
The Laois GAA Executive committee will now put Brennan's name forward at the next county committee meeting to review his candidacy.
