Kieran Donaghy could see the funny side of a truly amazing slam dunk attempt

The last time many of us spotted Kieran Donaghy in sporting action, he was put up one hell of a fight to Johnny Cooper and the Dubs.

With Kerry narrowly eliminated from the All-Ireland, Donaghy is able to line out for his basketball team, Tralee Warriors. Back in January, 'Star' enjoyed Intermediate Cup success with St Brendan's Tralee and claimed an MVP accolade in the process. Last night represented a much stiffer challenge as Warriors travelled to Cork to take on reigning champions UCC Demons in the Men's Super League. Playing in the forward role, Donaghy had a decent return of 15 points but could only watch on as Demons' Jacob Lawson ran the show. Lawson finished up with 25 points but came so, co close to making it 25 points with a truly spectacular slam dunk attempt. The image was captured by Cathal Noonan of INPHO and shows Donaghy as a mere spectator. In the United States, they would say Donaghy was posterized by Lawson. Donaghy is thankful it was not 94-77 or he would never live it down.
