Sometimes, some skills, moments or actions live beyond the game, regardless of winning or losing. Some things just stand the test of time.
That moment is what we all strive for when we pull on our GAA jerseys be they county or club, but so few can claim to have broke the barrier.
Ten days ago, Borris-Ileigh lost the All-Ireland club final to Ballyhale Shamrocks but what many people remember of that game is Jerry Kelly.
The tingle of competition in his bones, the 21-year-old centre forward in the maroon jersey turned in a careers' worth of highlights in sixty minutes. It was a one-man bish bash with Kelly clawing ball, slotting sidelines and sticking points from far, near and everywhere else.
He hurled with abandon for a performance that will be admired for years to com.
Next up is the Fitzgibbon Cup with IT Carlow and with his college tipping along nicely in the competition, the addition of Kelly, fresh from his club breakthrough, will be some kick-on indeed.
"All you want to do is win," he says.
