Tipperary forward Noel McGrath returned to inter-county action just a little over three months after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Tipp's fans rose as one as McGrath jogged onto the pitch.
It looked as though there would be a fairytale finish as McGrath got a late point to put his team ahead. Galway, though, had other ideas and responded with two of their own to win it.
Almost as soon as the final whistle blew, Irish artist Tom Doyle got to work.
The talented soul behind yellowbelly.ie, Doyle has produced this remarkable piece celebrating McGrath's achievements and reminding us that some battles can still be won.
The story behind Doyle's Hurler on the Ditch strip can be read here.
