By minute 19, Limerick were 3-3 to 0-3 up and this game was all over bar the shouting. They would go onto win by 24 points, on a final scoreline of 5-22 to 0-13. Westmeath stuck it to Wexford for large parts on the other hand but in the end, goals from David Dunne and Conor McDonald broke their spirit. Davy Fitzgerald's men went onto win by 2-21 to 0-16. This means that the fixtures for the All-Ireland quarter and semi-finals have now become an awful lot clearer.
