Humble Martin Keown returned to his former GAA club to present medals to starstruck kids

We always knew the Arsenal man was one of the Premier's League's toughest ever defenders, and a player that you would not mess with on the field. Just ask Ruud van Nistelrooy, who still has nightmares about Keown lepping around him at Old Trafford in 2003. But the former England defender has shown a deeper side to him since his retirement, and we've warmed to him a lot over the last few years. It helps that he has very strong Irish roots, and that his son Niall is now a full Ireland U-21 international. Keown played GAA as a child with the Eire Óg club in Oxford, and last weekend, he was back at the club handing out medals to youngsters after a May Bank-Holiday tournament.
According to the Irish Post, Keown was the special guest at the 7s youth Gaelic football tournament in Oxford.
Teams arrived from across England including Coventry, Birmingham, Cambridge, Luton, Reading and London and all were delighted to get to meet the Match of the Day presenter
