The Sligo defender was rushed to hospital last weekend, having suffered his second stroke in less than two years.
However SportsJOE understands the 34-year-old will be allowed to return home from hospital today or tomorrow.
Sligo PRO Gavin Cawley visited Martyn this week: "He is not too bad. He hopes to get home before the weekend."
Martyn was warming up in preparation for coming in as a sub during the second half of the FBD League match against Leitrim when he began to fell unwell. He was treated by the team doctor Declan Clinton before being brought to hospital.
The experienced defender had previously suffered a stroke in the run-up to Sligo's July 2014 qualifier against Cork. Then a hole in the heart was diagnosed and, with the support of the Gaelic Players Association, Martyn had surgery 12 months ago that allowed him to return to football within two months - featuring in Sligo's league clash with Louth in March of last year.
Cawley said it was too soon to say whether or not the dedicated Yeats County servant would return this time round.
