The Championship starts in earnest this weekend, with big beasts like the Tyrone footballers, Tipperary hurlers and Leitrim footballers making their seasonal bows.

Many people have already tied up Sam Maguire in a sky blue ribbon, expecting Dublin to successfully defend their crowd, while lots of pundits think a Spring of shaping from Clare and Waterford will give way to the usual hurling dominance of Kilkenny. If everything was that neat and tidy, sure, none of us would bother watching sport. The football features the usual suspects like Mayo, Kerry and Donegal ready to challenge the Dubs, with Tyrone, Monaghan and Roscommon keen to join the party. The league finals between Clare and Waterford suggest the Cats won't have it all their own way, and that is before you consider the big beasts of Munster, Cork and Tipperary, who have been suspiciously quiet. And then there is the provincial championships! Ah, the provincial championships... Thank heavens for Ulster football and Munster hurling. But we know what you're thinking, 'who do the SportsJOE lads fancy for the eight trophies on offer?'. After the success of our Premier League predictions, we couldn't not bring you our GAA picks. The only unanimous prediction was the Leinster SFC, where we all expect Meath to take the Royal throne. Only kidding, it'll be the Dubs. Of that much we're certain. Do please get in contact via Facebook, Twitter or Snapchat and let us know how wrong we are.
