The one drawback of Meehan's career was a big one - injuries. During his time with Galway, he picked up ankle, shoulder, hamstring and ankle [again] injuries that confined him to the sidelines.
He retired from the inter-county game back in 2014 but, going well for club side Caltra, he has been convinced into rejoining the senior panel.
There has been no timeline set for Meehan's return and there is no indication, as of yet, that he will feature in Galway's Allianz League campaign.
However, with the likes of Damien Comer, Gary Sice, Michael Lundy and Cathal Silke playing some fine football, the return of Meehan further bolsters a squad Colm Parkinson recently tipped as All-Ireland dark horses.
