Hurling takes over on RTÉ as Gaelic football ready for a GAAGO weekend

It's a do-or-die weekend in the provincial hurling championships.

It's not quite do-or-die in the football, but there are some exciting ties in store none-the-less. Taking pole-position on Saturday is the rematch of Ulster champions Derry and Monaghan (GAAGO), with Derry having come out well on top when they last met in the provincial semi-final. Monaghan will be hoping to turn the tables in that one, as will Cork, when they meet Louth at 3.00. Mickey Harte's team defeated the Rebels in Division Two earlier this year but if they want to repeat the dose, they'll have to improve from their poor Leinster final showing vs Dublin. Likewise, Armagh are another beaten provincial finalist looking to get back on the wagon, and they're hosting Westmeath in the box-it Athletic Grounds at 4.45 (GAAGO). From a hurling perspective, it's all about the Joe McDonagh Cup final with Offaly and Carlow's Croke Park clash broadcasting live on RTÉ. Sunday is a hurling heaven then with both provincial championships going down to the wire. Cork can knock out Limerick while, in Leinster, Wexford are hanging on by nothing more than the skins of their teeth. Check out all the permutations for both championships here.
