Fair play to the Leitrim GAA official who saved the day at today’s All-Ireland club semi-final

There is still some real-life heroes among us.

And one such man made himself known to the crowd this afternoon at the home of Leitrim GAA, as Rockcorry were about to take the field for their clash with Ardnaree Sarsfields in the All-Ireland club football semi final One of the great things about the GAA is that the playing of our national anthem, or Amhrán na bhFiann, can differ greatly from place to place. Sometimes it is live, other times the dusty cassette from the 1980s is taken out and put into a 'hi-fi' or some other contraption. But this afternoon at Carrick-On Shannon, there was an unfortunate incident when the CD, we'll say a CD anyway, cut out midway through the famous song.
