Dublin’s player ratings after their emphatic 31 point win over Westmeath

Homesport

It was another great day for Dublin as they coasted through to the Leinster Final.

Any fears that Dublin fans had about a lack of motivation to win a third consecutive All-Ireland will have be put to rest after a ruthless performance against Westmeath. Not once did they settle as the put up a 4-29 with only 0-10 in reply. Lo and behold, here are the player ratings.

Stephen Cluxton – 7

Never troubled and reliable as always from the kick outs, would have been higher had he actually had anything to do.

Michael Fitzsimons -7

Much like Cluxton, Fitzsimons didn’t have much to do and did well to smother out any attack brought forward by Westmeath

Johnny Cooper – 8

Similar to Fitzsimons, he was a leader in the backline but wasn’t afraid to come out with the ball and start quick counter attacks.

Eric Lowndes – 9

Establishing himself nicely this season, was just about everywhere on the pitch and wasn't afraid to attack. Darren Daly - 7  A late change and didn’t do a whole lot wrong.

Cian O’Sullivan – 7

Didn’t do anything to stand out which is the sign of a job well done.

Jack McCaffrey – 8

Well taken score towards the end and was impressive in the tackle as well as going forward.

Brian Fenton – 8

Business as usual for Fenton. brilliant under the high ball and a couple of good scores too.

James McCarthy – 7

It is hard to shine when you’re not a natural midfielder and are partnering one of the most gifted in the game. Still a solid performance from the Ballymun Kickhams' man.

Niall Scully – 7

A workmanlike performance and could have been a higher rating if his half forward partners weren’t so damn good.

Ciaran Kilkenny – 10

He was everywhere and his 1-03  tally shows that. Powerful, accurate and exuded class.

Paul Mannion – 10 (MOTM)

As Ger Canning said, very rare have you ever seen someone as sharp at this stage of the season. 0-8 from play is serious.

Dean Rock – 8

Solid as ever. A good goal to compliment another great performance.

Paddy Andrews – 7

A couple of good scores and not a foot wrong.

Con O’Callaghan – 8

A great first half and finally got a chance to prove himself after not being given a sniff against Carlow. Quiet in the second half but overall a great performance Substitutes Kevin McManamon – 8 Eoghan O’Gara – 8 Bernard Brogan – 7 Shane Carthy – 8 Brian Howard – 7 David Byrne – 6
