There was simply no beating the incredibly brave Donal Tuohy today

Cork knocked on the door several, several times.

Donal Tuohy had one of those days, today, as Clare doled out a four-point defeat to Cork in their Allianz Hurling League clash. The Clare goalkeeper was in fine form before the game - with his brilliant Q&A in the match programme [below] - and took that straight onto the pitch. https://twitter.com/ValerieWheeler_/status/965208195005329408 Clare tore into The Rebels in the first half and led 0-16 to 0-5 at the break. It could have all been different, though, had Tuohy not denied Seamus Harnedy with an incredibly brave save when the Cork forward was put through for a one-on-one. There were only five points between the sides at this point but that stop prevented Cork from getting any sort of foot-hold in the game. Tuohy and the Clare defence shut down any scoring chances close in and their opponents had to settle for points until the closing stages. Shane O'Donnell and Tony Kelly did team up for this fine score, however: https://twitter.com/SportTG4/status/965245237772804096 Tuohy made another superb stop, heading into injury time, when he got his hurl down to block a hard struck Pa Horgan effort. The only team the sliothar got past Tuohy was when Horgan drilled in a free from 13 metres out. On that occasion, defender Jack Browne got behind it and Clare were on the home straight. Michael O'Malley was named man-of-the-match by TG4 but, as players often do, opted to credit just about every other Clare player with the victory.
