Clare's chances in this year's football Championship have been dealt a serious blow as talismanic Podge Collins will be out of action for the "foreseeable future."

The Cratloe club man only managed 15 minutes during yesterday's first round meeting with Ballyea after sustaining a worrying leg injury. And today, Clare FM confirmed that the corner-forward had damaged his cruciate ligament which will rule him out for the duration of the summer and beyond. We wish him a healthy and speedy recovery.
