A great gesture!

After experiencing the joys of Cork's win over Tipperary on Sunday, a young fan suffered an unfortunate injury when running on to the field after full-time, to get close to his heroes.

He went straight for Darragh Fitzgibbon, who, unbeknownst to him, accidentally knocked the kid to the ground and continued on his way.

It was then left to Tipp star Noel McGrath to check on the youngster.

However, Fitzgibbon has shown his class by getting in touch with his sponsor, the car dealership Cavanaghs of Charleville, to help track down the boy and present him with a signed jersey.

On their Facebook page, the company wrote: "This was the unfortunate moment when an enthusiastic Cork supporter accidentally got caught up in the post match celebrations yesterday - only to fall foul of an accidental stray hurley from Cork captain Darragh Fitzgibbon! Darragh has reached out to us and asked us if we can identify who the boy is so that he can present him a signed Cork jersey to help ease his pain from yesterday. Well done Darragh. Let us know if you can help."

The fan was quickly found, with the dealership posting a further update to their page.

They said: "Just a quick update on this as we have had an amazing response from the public in helping us identify this young lad. The good news is, we now know his identity and have been in contact with his family. We are happy to let everyone know that Cavanaghs of Charleville will be assisting them in attending this weekend's fixture against Limerick and, of course, we will make an arrangement for the young lad to meet his hero, Darragh, and get a signed jersey as well. We appreciate the help of everyone who has contacted us and commented on the post. Thank you all".
