TG4’s Cora Staunton documentary earns rave reviews

TG4's 'Cora – The Greatest' documentary has earned rave reviews as the Irish broadcaster documented the Mayo woman's venture to the AFL Women's (AFLW) league earlier this year.

Staunton became the the first international player to be signed to an AFL Women's list when she joined the Greater Western Sydney Giants last year. The Carnacon forward joined the club following Mayo's All-Ireland final loss to Dublin and averaged just under a goal a game in her debut season, a remarkable feat given that she had just two months to learn the sport. "For an Irishwoman to come here having no understanding of the game and to give herself the opportunities she had today," McConnell said in Febraury. "It's really exciting for her because she's putting a lot on the line. She's a proud woman but really good for our team because they love her and they really want her to see her do well. I'm thrilled for her and the rest of the group that they got a result today."
