Connacht final and Leinster semi’s the highlights of weekend’s club football

Ballintubber and Corofin clash in Castlebar as Leinster finalists to be decided

It's another bumper weekend of club football in the AIB Club championships this weekend. Below we look at the football matches at senior level while if you want to read up on the hurling then head this way.

AIB Connacht Club Football Championship Final - Ballintubber v Corofin - McHale Park 2pm

It's a Mayo v Galway clash in the AIB Connacht club senior football final at McHale Park in Castlebar this Sunday. Cillian O Connor and Alan Dillon are among the players the Mayo champions will be hoping can guide them to a first ever provincial title. Corofin are one of the superpowers of Galway football after claiming their 16th county title this autumn and easily brushed aside Aughawillan of Leitrim in their semi final. The sides last met in 2011 when Corofin edged their Mayo rivals by 1-11 to 2-7 as Cillian O'Connor scored 2-3 of his sides total. AIB Leinster Club Football Championship Semi Finals - St Vincents V Garrycastle - Parnell Park 4pm

Parnell Park's second game of Sunday afternoon at 4 pm features the big ball as All Ireland champions St Vincent's put their title on the line once again-this time they face Garrycastle of Westmeath. The Dublin outfit overcame a poor Portlaoise side in their q-final earlier this month by  3-11 to 0-10 while Garrycastle had to rely on veteran Dessie Dolan to get them over the line in a one point win over Killoe-Emmets Diarmuid Connolly is the focal point of a razor sharp Vincent's attack and stopping early goals will be key if Garrycastke are to pull off a shock against the Andy Merrigan holders.   [caption id="attachment_1241" align="alignnone" width="300"] Mossy Quinn ships a big hit from Brian Mulligan.[/caption]

AIB Leinster Club Football Championship Semi Finals - Rhode V Moorefield - Tullamore 2pm

Rhode of Offaly face Kildare outfit Moorefield in Tullamore for a place in the Leinster final next month. The men from the Faithful county battled to an impressive win over Navan O'Mahonys in their q-final by 4-10 to 0-13 while the Kildare side beat Rathnew 0-17 to 2-7. Ronan Sweeney has impressed for Moorefield at midfield despite usually wearing number 14 while there is also a Kerry connection to the Kildare side,Eanna and Cian O Connor are sons of ex-Kingdom boss Jack. Rhode are reliant on Niall McNamee for their threat up front and the inter county star provides a clinical edge  in what will be a fascinating clash.
