Clare club hurling moves to knockout stage as Cork, Limerick and Meath football championships continue

Cork Senior Football Championship It was a busy weekend on Leeside as round four of the race for senior honours continued with some heavy hitters in action. Cork kingpins Nemo Rangers fought back late in their clash with Douglas to score the last four points in a thrilling clash that ended in a draw at 1-10 to 0-13. Douglas played all but 14 minutes without Eoin Cadogan, who was black carded in an incident with Paul Kerrigan when his side were leading 0-6 to no score. Elsewhere O'Donovan Rossa proved too strong for Beara as they cruised into the next round with a 2-11 to 0-8 win. The other senior clash of the weekend saw Carberry Rangers overcome Ilen Rovers by 4-10 to 1-4 in a comfortable win for the 2014 county finalists. Limerick Senior Football Championship In one of the most one-sided games of the weekend's club action anywhere Ballylanders hammered Rathkeale by 7-18 to 0-7. Adare provided a major upset as they beat Newcastle West by 2-6 to 0-9 having trailed by 0-6 to 0-3 at half-time. One of the tighter games of the weekend's action was the clash of Monaleen and St Patricks ,with the city side overcoming St Pats by 0-10 to 0-9. Former champions Dromcollogher Broadford beat Pallasgreen by 3-19 to 1-7, wile Fr Caseys beat Ballysteen by 1-9 to 0-9 at the start of the weekend. Meath Senior Football Championship  It's not all about Croke Park glory in local club championships as inter-county footballer Donal Keoghan has found out this season. The Rathkenny man was unable to prevent his side losing to Wolfe Tones by 2-8 to 0-11, and the club are now facing demotion to intermediate next season. Walterstown are also staring at a relegation play off after a 2-10 to 0-9 loss to Na Fianna, while St Peter's racked up a 16 point wining margin in their 2-20 to 0-10 win over Moynalvey It wasn't a good weekend either for the defending champions Navan O'Mahonys who slumped to a 0-12 to 1-8 loss to Ballinlough, while Gaeil Colmcille beat Blackhall Gaels by 1-15 to 1-11. Former champions Seneschalstown are also hoping to avoid the drop and their 1-11 to 1-8 win over St Patrick's should help them avoid the relegation play off, as Skyrne lost out to Donaghmore/Ashbourne by 0-20 to 1-7. Wexford Senior Football Championship Holders St Anne's showed all their experience as they saw off the tough challenge of Adamstown on Saturday with a 1-9 to 2-4 win. Shelmaliers secured a 1-9 to 0-9 win over Fethard with the goal by the boot of AJ Lehane coming from the penalty spot after five minutes. St Martin's beat Horeswood by 2-18 to 1-4 as Gusserane secured a valuable point in their 1-11 to 0-14 draw with Starlights. St James performed the comeback of the weekend as they dragged themselves back into their match with Castletown thanks to a last minute goal from Brendan Doyle. They had trailed by seven at one stage but they forced a draw in a game that ended 2-7 to 1-10. Longford Senior Championship  There could be new champions in the midlands after holders Emmett Og failed to win as second successive game. The champions slumped to a 1-9 to 0-11 loss to Dromard, which means they will now face Ballymahon in a play-off next week. Ballymahon got the better of Fr Manning Gaels by 3-13 to 2-7 to set up that winner takes all clash next week, while the loss means the Gaels now face Carrickedmond in a relegation play off. Despite being through to the q-finals anyway Abbeylara shared the spoils with St Columba's in a 0-9 each draw, while Colmcille beat St Mary's 1-14 to 0-7 . Longford Slashers drew with Monstrim 0-9 to 1-6 while Clonguish beat Carrickedmond by 0-12 to 0-4 to reach the Q-finals. Carlow Senior Football Championship Old Leighlin suffered a 2-12 to 0-12 loss to Palatine on Friday night, while Rathvilly had to wait for the very last seconds to score the winner in their 0-9 to 1-5 win over Mt Leinster Rangers. Eire Og beat Ballinabranna by  4-16 to  1-4 as Kildavin-Clonegal were made to fight in a 1-12 to 0-11 win over Tinryland Clare Senior Hurling Championship The first team to reach the last eight of the race for Canon Hamilton is Clooney Quin, after they recorded an impressive win over Newmarket-on-Fergus by 1-11 to 0-13. Also in the last eight are former champions Clonlara after beating O'Callaghan's Mills by 3-14 to 1-11. Ballyea are also through after Tony Kelly hit form to shoot 0-12 in his side's 0-22 to 1-14 win over neighbours Kilmaley. Veteran Niall Gilligan also rolled back the years  for Sixmilebridge as he scored 0-10 in a 0-17 to 1-12 win over Crusheen. Cratloe's hopes of back-to-back senior titles is also still alive after a 1-23 to 1-17 win over Whitegate. In the losers' section Eire Og beat Tubber by 0-16 to 1-9, while Tulla had too much for Feakle as they won by 1-12 to 0-13. The final game of the weekend saw Clarecastle slump to a loss to Inagh Kilnamona by 3-18 to 0-21 which threatens their senior status as they face a relegation semi final play-off. Offaly Senior Hurling Championship Who can catch Kilcoramc Killoughey in Offaly as the champions posted yet another win, this time at the expense of Kinnitty by 0-16 to 0-13. Birr also recorded a win on Sunday with a 2-17 to 2-13 win over Shinrone, while Tullamore once again racked up a huge score as they overcame Ballinamere by 3-22 to 1-19. Brosna Gaels time at senior has been a miserable one and they look doomed after yet another heavy loss - this time a 1-31 to 2-3 beating at the hands of Coolderry. St Rynaghs beat Seir Kieran by 0-19 to 1-8, while Shamrocks were no match for Belmont as they won by 2-20 to 0-11. Cork Senior Hurling Championship Imokilley or Ballyhea will take on Sarsfield in the country senior Q-final after Youghal could only mange 0-11 against the reigning champions. The holders had Cian McCarthy to thanks for the most par as he racked up half of his sides total of 0-28 with nine frees and one '65 part of his tally.
