Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody was livid with Dublin selector Greg Kennedy for interfering with a short free.
Kennedy ran in front of an unmarked forward to intercept the ball before the referee dismissed him to the sideline where he copped a spray from a very agitated Cody. https://twitter.com/peterswellman/status/1127282610613493762 Kilkenny won the match 2-23 to 1-21 with TJ Reid clocking up a personal haul of 2-12 with former cat J.J. Delaney praising him as the clear man of the match."Each to a man they stood up to the mark," Delaney said on Sky Sports after the match. "I would love to know what Brian said at half-time because they came out for the second-half a different team. They nullified the Liam Rushe threat and Padraig Walsh was brilliant at centre-back as well but from a Dublin point of view Eoghan O'Donnell had a great battle with Colin Fennelly, Chris Crummey had a good battle with Walter Walsh but for me TJ Reid was my man of the match. "He was absolutely brilliant. His work rate in the first-half when he was the only one that really hurled well in the first-half but his workrate, his energy, his unselfishness was absolutely brilliant and then he got the scores in the second-half to cap it all off."
