Another manager has stepped down after Championship disappointment

Another one bites the dust.

It wasn't the best of seasons for Laois and it has meant that their manager, Peter Creedon, has stepped down from the role. It has been a nightmare season for the county, Laois were relegated to division four after a number of poor performances in the league. Laois finished bottom of the table after much hype surrounded them and their championship campaign wasn't a whole lot better. Creedon's side managed to get past Longford in the Leinster Championship only to be convincingly beaten by Kildare. Although they battled by Wicklow in the first round of the qualifiers, Laois were dumped out by Clare after a ten point loss. As per RTÉ, Creedon explained his reasoning for stepping down. "Although we had the support of the County Board executive and the Laois players, we feel that staying on would have been divisive for the county, given the nature of a recent board meeting," Laois will now be hoping to appoint a manager that can bring them back to the dizzy heights that they reached in the early 2000's when they claimed a Leinster crown back in 2003, the first time the county lifted the Delaney Cup since 1946.
